Things to Do in Málaga | A Local Guide from Pinares de San Antón
Your base for the best of Málaga
Five private villas on the wooded hillside east of Málaga, where every terrace faces the sea and every evening ends with a sunset.
The Views
Sea, city, and mountains - all from your terrace.
The Neighbourhood
Pinares de San Antón is a residential neighbourhood on the wooded hillside east of Málaga. It's the part of the city where locals go to escape the heat - a few degrees cooler, surrounded by umbrella pines, with the kind of quiet you notice.
From the villas you can see the cathedral, the port, the curve of the bay, and on a clear day, the mountains of North Africa.
The neighbourhood is quiet and residential. Small supermarket and a few restaurants within walking distance. The hiking trail up Monte San Antón starts five minutes from the front door. But most guests spend their evenings on the terrace, watching the lights come on across the bay.
Getting Around
The beaches at El Palo and Pedregalejo are three kilometres downhill - local, sandy beaches with chiringuitos (seafood restaurants on the sand).
The historic centre with the Picasso Museum, Alcazaba, and Cathedral is 10 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes on the bus. Málaga airport is a 20-minute drive.
A hire car is useful but not essential - the villas have free private parking.
